Legal notice & privacy

Who publishes this site, what it does with your visit, and what the Kubic app does with your data — in plain words.

Publisher

Kubic and this website are a non-commercial project published by a private individual.

Contact: contact@kubicmc.com — for any question, any request about your data, or to report abuse, which is handled as a priority.

Hosting

This site and the installer are hosted by GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States — +1 415 735 4488.

This website

  • No cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts or fonts: nothing on this site follows you.
  • Two preferences — theme and language — are kept in your browser's local storage when you change them. They never leave your device.
  • Like any web server, the host keeps technical logs (IP address, date, page requested) to run the service and keep it secure.
  • The installer is downloaded from GitHub, where Kubic's releases are published; its SHA-256 hash is shown on the download page so you can check the file.

The Kubic app

Its full privacy policy is built into the app, under Contact → Privacy, in six languages. In short:

  • No telemetry: no usage statistics, no audience measurement, no automatic crash reports.
  • Your servers, worlds, backups, screenshots, settings and Microsoft sign-in tokens stay on your computer.
  • Kubic contacts outside services only to do what you ask: Mojang and Microsoft (sign-in, game versions), Modrinth and CurseForge (mods), Paper, Purpur, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Quilt and OptiFine (server versions and loaders), the Maven repositories (libraries), and ipify (your public IP, when you ask for it in the Network tab).
  • Once at each startup, the app reads this site's version.json file to see whether a new version exists — a plain read, with no identifier. You can turn it off in Settings → Updates; the installer itself is only downloaded, from GitHub, if you choose to update.

Custom addresses — optional

When you claim an address such as yourname.kubicmc.com, the app sends Kubic's service the name you chose, your server's port, a public key generated on your computer, and a dated signature. Your IP address is not sent by the app: the service reads it from the connection. Your username, your Minecraft or Microsoft account, your server names, your worlds and your mods are never sent.

The service then publishes two DNS records — your name pointing to your public IP, and your server's port. Anyone can read them: that is how DNS works. The service runs on Cloudflare; the domain's DNS zone is hosted by Porkbun.

The address disappears at once when you release it, or after thirty days without any sign of life from the app. If publishing your IP does not suit you, do not claim an address: your server keeps working with its direct IP, which you share only with whom you choose.

AI companions — optional, off by default

With the Anthropic provider, your API key and the companion's exchanges — what it sees in the game, what it is told, what it answers — are sent to Anthropic and fall under its privacy policy. With the local provider, everything stays on your computer. Your API key is stored on your machine and never reaches Kubic's servers.

Your rights

Releasing an address erases everything Kubic's service holds about you. Kubic keeps no account, no identifier and no history; for any other request, write to the contact address above.
